US and UK impose further sanctions on Russia

After the annexation of the provinces of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia on 30 September, both US and UK governments declared new further Russia sanctions.

These new restrictive measures target hundreds of Russian officials and entities, also aim to several companies abroad to help evade sanctions.

The Treasury Department appointed 14 international suppliers that assisted Russia’s military supply chains. Also targeted 109 members of Russia’s State Duma and 169 members of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. On the other hand, the State Department added visa restrictions on 910 individuals, including members of the Russian military, Belarusian military officials and Russian proxies operating in Ukraine. Additionally, the Department of Commerce is adding 57 entities to its export control list. It will penalize that countries which seek to supply material support to Russia and Belarus’ defense sector.

Regarding UK government, it will aim services export bans, in IT consultancy, architectural, engineering, auditing and transnational legal advisory services, nearly 700 crucial goods from Russia’s industrial and technological capabilities.
